Oster is not the same as it was September 4, 2010 I do not own this model, but for anyone who wants to know what to expect from Oster these days, just look at the model 6248 from a couple years ago. Except from the reviews here, apparently it's gotten even more dangerous since then, rather than just defective.
Only one little problem July 29, 2010 R. Adair 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just received this oven and the first thing I did was check the oven temperature to see if it was correct.
Well, it isn't. The actual oven temperature is 25 degrees less that the set point temperature. I checked it with two different oven thermometers and the readings are the same throughout the range of the oven, from 200 degrees to 450 degrees. Kind of annoying to me since accurate temp control is the most important part of any oven. This is not enough for me to send the unit back as everything else works fine and I'm not sure if a replacement would be any more accurate. I'll just have to set the temperature 25 degrees higher than what is needed.
convection toaster oven July 24, 2010 Wauline This is just perfect for two people and is wonderful for the hot summer days. Does not heat up the kitchen and works very good.
It was fine until it caught on FIRE! July 17, 2010 DanceRat 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought our Oster a little over two years ago. Liked pretty much all aspects of it until one day I was making a small batch of cookies and smelled something odd. When I went to go check it out I saw that the electric circuitry had caught fire and was burning in the interior of the oven! Scared me, I unplugged it from the wall and threw some baking soda on it. Was not good. After the fact, I read through some reviews and realized that the Oster catching fire was not an isolated incident. I cannot recommend this oven due to safety issues.
