Don't be fooled into beleaving that all these ovens contain infrared heating. None of the ovens except the Nuwave oven has infrared heating. I bought the flavorwave oven believing it had infrared heating, but it only has halogen heating. As a result all of your foods will cook on the outside while the inside of the food remains half cooked. I tried cooking a 5# frozen chicken for 45 minutes on each side as recommended. After one and a half hours the outside was well done but the inside of the cavity was still raw and bloody. I wouldn't cook a whole chicken or turkey in this oven. The instructions say to turn the chicken inside out half way, but how do you do that?

Some things take a little longer, like potatoes. But we use this all the time. We love to use it for corn and steak! We put the frozen steak in and within minutes, it's cooked and it tastes excellent!

Flavorwave Turbo Oven - I found that the Turbowave Oven was wonderful especially for two people, but after a year the plastic broke on both sides and the plastic around the top melted so I can't get the top part off. I would love to have another one but I would like glass instead of plastic. When it comes to heat why would you use plastic anyway. There was at one time one with a glass bowl. I had the older version for almost two years and loved it, but the hard plastic cook cover turned yellow quickly and began to crack. I continued using it till the new one arrived. I love the way and manner this oven cooks. Saves time, electricity and work. My only issue is that the glass bowl is heavy and awkward to handle when washing. But, the food comes out great and I can see the fat dripping out of the meat or poultry that I cook, so I know the food is better for me. The pros FAR outweigh the cons.

Since this is the 3rd oven I have ordered, I am so pleased when this Flavorwave turned out to be what we are looking for..First the bowl is glass and lightweight enough that I can lift it out and put in the dishwasher to clean without being afraid that the top part will tip over like what happened with the Secura model. I also find the instructions and cookbook are user friendly with easy knobs that allow me to dial and time food in a simple and familiar manner. As the Secura model had us preheat everything at 500 degrees, I plan to cook grass fed beef at this higher temperature next time to aid browning..Both my husband and I appreciate cooking from the frozen state and being able to really see and follow the progress easily!!
